Describe in detail the project you will be working on for your internship.
My project is planning an info session for high school students who are interested in becoming an ambassador for Junior Achievements Finance Park. Finance Park is a experiential learning program that teaches high school students about taking care of future finances. It is coming out in the Fall of 2015. The ambassadors are needed to represent Junior achievement at events and be there to talk about Finance Park and how it is an important program to have. I am, along with Karla, planning a day at Sea World where some student who we already know are interested are meeting to learn more about what their job would be as an ambassador. We are going to have a room at Sea world and go over information in a fun and interactive way. After all that is done, we are going to spend the rest of the day at Sea World to get everyone to know each other. I have already wrote an email to the interested students about the info session, created a flyer about becoming an ambassador, created a schedule for Sea World that is interactive and interesting while still getting out the information and created a permission slip. I still need to make a supplies list and go shopping before the event.
In regards to the project, what are you excited and nervous about? How will it benefit you and the company?
I am excited for everything that I am planning to actually happen and hopefully have my work pay off. I am most nervous that the students will have a bad attitude or something will go wrong. This is going to benefit the company because I am helping them get ambassadors that they will have for up to four years. Especially in this time where they are working on Finance Park, they are really busy with other needs so me taking on recruiting ambassadors is helpful.
